About Lucy Armstrong Chocolates

I am Lucy Armstrong, owner of Lucy Armstrong Chocolates. My passion for cooking began when I was around 5 years old. I always wanted to help my Mum cook as soon as I could reach the top of the cooker. As I got older I was always making cakes for birthdays or helping to make desserts for a dinner party.

After completing AS levels I went to Tante Marie School of Cookery in Woking where I received a Cordon Bleu Cookery Diploma.  Following my time at Tante Marie I worked in various restaurants, specialising in desserts and chocolate desserts in particular.  While working for a spell with the National Trust I had a customer once say that she had driven over 40 miles to buy some of my famous gluten-free chocolate brownies.!

After much practice and producing chocolates for family and friends, I decided that this is what I wanted to do for a living and before setting up Lucy Armstrong Chocolates, I had the opportunity to travel for six months. This gave me the opportunity to try chocolates and flavours in different countries around the world.  Memorable experiences included an absolutely delicious passion fruit chocolate in Australia and in Thailand I was lucky enough to go to a chocolate buffet at The Sukhothai Hotel in Bangkok.  They have a liquid chocolate buffet and delicious cakes and pastries including Crème de Cacao Brulee, Oraline Daquoise and chocolate truffles. In New York I went on a chocolate walking tour. We were taken to the best chocolatiers in New York. This included Marie Belle and The Cocoa Bar and much of my inspiration today came from these travels overseas.

Lucy Armstrong Chocolates was launched in 2010 and has gone from strength to strength.  I now supply Crates of Horsham and Goodwood Hotel with chocolates made with Goodwood cream. I have attended the BBC Good Food Show in London as well as selling my gourmet chocolates at fairs across the south east of England.

I take pride in producing special requests for my customers including printing images on to chocolates and making a giant Easter Egg containing an engagement ring for the customer to propose to his girlfriend (she said yes!)  This personal service along with the taste and quality of my chocolates is what sets me apart.

My chocolates are now receiving recognition from the best in the industry.  I have been awarded Great Taste Awards for my Milk Chocolate Caramels, my Dark Chocolate Salted Caramels, my Vanilla Fudge and my Lemon Meringue Marshmallows.
