Great news! I have just been notified that I have won a Great Taste Award for my dark chocolate Salted Caramels!

The judges described them as a “lovely quality chocolate with the exact amount of bitterness to balance the caramel, which itself had the right amount of bitterness and salt”. My salted caramels have been many customers’ favourites for some time but it is lovely to have official recognition.

Great Taste is simply about taste, not clever branding or smart packaging. Judges are presented with, for example, a piece of cheese, a pie or a little dish of chutney, with no wrappings, jars or marks – and they taste, confer and re-taste before making the decision on whether a product should be a 1-, 2- or 3-star winner. In total more than 12 judges will have tasted and commented on each product

This great endorsement of my hand-made chocolates adds to the Great Taste Award I received last year for my Milk Chocolate Caramels. However, my other flavours are just as delicious, particularly my new flavours: fondant peppermint and crème brulee. These are not yet up on the website as they are still at the experimental stage but watch this space.
